Energy Efficient Building Operations Specialist

The Energy Efficient Building Operations Specialist (EEBOPS) course is offered for building personnel facing challenges of keeping costs down while energy prices are rising. Building staff make decisions daily that directly affect the comfort and safety of residents, and the bottom line. The EEBOPS training course assists personnel eliminate much of the guesswork of managing building performance for energy efficiency. Even the most experienced building operators and facility managers will learn new best practices that will provide immediate benefits and real cost savings. Completion of the Building Operations Specialist course is a requirement for multifamily building superintendents in projects in NYSERDA’s Assisted Multifamily Program and buildings undergoing weatherization through the NYS Weatherization Assistance Program. 

As part of NYSERDA's new Multifamily Performance Program, incentives payments are available to support participation by property managers, superintendents and maintenance staff in buildings that have adopted an Energy Reduction Plan designed to improve total energy use by 20%.   

This course also prepares students for the written and field exams for BPI certification as MF Building Operations Specialists.
