Description: Building Analyst Training I
As a BPI Affiliate and one of the Learning Centers in Hudson Valley Community College statewide network supported by NYSERDA, AEA provides this training to prepare students for BPI Certification as a Building Analyst. Home Performance Contractors in New York are required to have staff with this certification in order to become accredited by BPI and approved for participation in the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program.
This training program allows contractors to become certified through the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program, increasing both business performance and marketability. Once trained, contractors use building science technology to help customers solve heating, cooling and air leakage problems that are driving high energy costs and provide them with a more comfortable, safe and durable home.The trainings consists of an overview of building science fundamentals, analysis of diagnostic equipment, assessment of building tightness and practical application of “blower door,” combustion safety and other diagnostics for assessing air leakage and efficiency in buildings. The BPI written test is given at the end of the Training. Completion of certificaton also requires the successful completion of the BPI Field Test. As a BPI Affiliate, AEA can schedule and Proctor the BPI Field exam as well.
