AEA experiences first-hand the impact of energy policy decisions on the communities it serves, as well as helps shape those policies through its active role and participation in public energy policy forums and community education. This unique combination of roles has made AEA particularly effective in education and advocacy.
AEA played and continues to maintain a key role in New York State’s electric industry policy forums on restructuring, representing the perspective of low-income households and communities.
In addition to participation in multiple local, state, and national forums, AEA hosted and managed two successful national conferences on energy efficiency in multifamily buildings, bringing together experts from throughout North America on the full range of multifamily building energy issues.
